Dobson's family, Dobson was the second principal of Cheltenham College (1845-59), he received the silver centre-piece in recognition for his service as principal, although it was reported on his retirement in 1859 'he did not ask for a service of plate, but for a handsome and comfortable brougham and pair' (Rev. T. Mozley 'Reminscences' pub. circa 1882).Condition: One bushel has broken off but it is still present with the centrepiece.
