A pre WWI Hohner Zeppelin mouth organ. Wooden body, engraved wrap-round tinplate Zeppelin form with outline details. 2 passenger gondolas and head and shoulders in wreath of Count Zeppelin and M.Hohner on either side, marked “Aeroband” and “M Hohner” with “Made in Germany”. Retaining some original black, gilt and silver washed finish. With parts of original cardboard box. GWO+C. Plate 1.
A fine turned and polished wooden biscuit barrel. Apparently made from an aircraft propeller. With silver plated and turned wood handles. A small silver plated shield engraved R.N.A.S. Eagle, mounted by Naval Crown and words ‘Dunkirk R.N.A.S.’, the lid engraved with a marquetry star. Diameter 9.5", height 7.5". GC, no lining, repair to lid. Also a sepia photo of the D-LZ129 “Hindenburg” on a landing field, 110x165mm, framed. The nose cap removes to reveal a flask with nozzle and screw cap, container with lid, nest of 4 cups and toastmaster’s goblet with detachable stem concealing a corkscrew, lemon squeezer and strainer marked “DRGM 384384.
