Lot 159

Russian late nineteenth to early twentieth century ornamental silver gilt mug. The body decorated in high relief with three framed figures in traditional dress, raised above a circular footed base with gadrooned detail and scrolling shaped handle. Height including handle 4 1/2 inches (12cm), weight 9.56ozt (297.3gms). Hallmarked to the base, the hallmark is most probably for Moscow 1899-1908 and the assayer I Sorokina 1899-1900 (Postnikova-Loseva 3879), however also marked with a workman's head and hammer facing to the right with 875, possibly relating to later in the twentieth century and a further mark which reads MOS-P. The mug is in very good condition. There are some blemishes and patches of discolouration to the whole, but nothing serious. The gilding on the inside of the mug is in very good condition, but on the outside it is a little worn. The decoration is all in excellent condition but the tops of the frames are a little bent. The hallmarks are all clear and legible.

A selection of associated early twentieth century silver handled pistol grip knifes, to include some carving flatware, hallmarked Sheffield, sponsors mark reads J.R, date letters indistinct. Together with a set of five Victorian teaspoons, hallmarked Glasgow 1877, sponsors mark reads R.S and a further Georgian condiment spoon, hallmarked London 1822, sponsors mark part rubbed possibly Hester Bateman etc.

A Victorian cased spoon and fork christening set with bright cut engraving, hallmarked Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall London 1886 and Sheffield 1887, together with a further twentieth century cased christening set, a pair of decorative Edwardian cased preserve spoons, hallmarked Sheffield 1902, sponsors mark reads 1902 and a Georgian and Victorian condiment spoon. Gross silver weight 6.71ozt (208.6gms). The Victorian cased fork and spoon are in excellent condition. The tip of the bowl of the spoon is a little bent, and there are minor surface scratches to both items. The prongs of the fork are slightly notched and blunted. The bright cut engraved decoration is clear and distinct, and the hallmarks are unrubbed and legible. he twentieth century cased set is in good condition. Again there are surface scratches, and patches of tarnish to the whole. The prongs of the fork are bent, and there are some pits to the inside of the bowl of the spoon. The decoration to the handles is a little rubbed in places. There are engraved monograms reading AFW to the undersides of the handles. These monograms are clear and unrubbed. The hallmark on the spoon is slightly worn but still legible, and on the fork is distinct and crisp. he preserve spoons are in good condition as well. There is a large amount of tarnish towards the ends of the bowls and handles, and surface

A modern silver cased canteen of six place settings, comprising six dinner knifes, six side knifes, six pairs of fish eaters, six dinner forks, six side forks, six desert spoons, six soup spoons, six teaspoons, two table spoons, one small ladle and carving knife fork and sharpener each with rope twist detail to the handles, each hallmarked Sheffield 1976, possibly Roberts and Belk, total weight 111.5ozt. Together with an Old English Georgian basting spoon, hallmarked London 1823, sponsors mark reads JB, a modern sauce ladle, hallmarked Sheffield 1958 and a three piece silver plated condiment set.

Five items, to include a silver plated salt with beaded outer edging on four ball feet, a commemorative farmers club medal, a pair of glasses, a circular box with interior mirror and a George V (1914/1918) Medal with ribbon. All of the items are in generally fair condition. There are just minor scratches to the silver, again minor scratches to the silver box, the inscription to the top is quite seriously worn. The glasses are in fair condition, there is general tarnishing to the metal work, they look worn. Both commemorative medals show minor tarnishing and scratches.

Lot 305

Mid to late nineteenth century Austro-Hungarian Renaissance style silver gilt, garnet, green stone, blister pearl and enamel pendant with blister pearl and cherub suspender leading to a central female figure surrounded by gem set, mother of pearl and enamel decoration leading to two blister pearl droppers and enamel termination, and a matching necklet of sixteen floral panels with a garnet and green stone central cluster surrounded with enamel floral detail. Pendant dimensions 10cm by 5cm. Necklet length 39cm (15 inches). With fitted case (AF). In good to fair general condition. The silver pendant is showing wear and tear and gilt effect only really visible to the decoration at the back of the pendant. The suspended termination is missing what should be probably another blister pearl. Some gem set detail on one side of the pendant is loose. Some of the stones are missing and not all match, a lot of the enamel detail is worn or chipped. The necklet is in better condition, it has a coffin shaped stamp to necklet clasp but is fairly worn, also stamped NA. On some of the panels the enamel detail is chipped, the metal is showing wear and tear, clasp in working order. The leather fitted case is damaged and in two parts, black velvet inner and silk inner worn and silky material has split.

All of the items are in generally good condition, most of the silver and metal is quite tarnished and there is some abrasion to most of the cameos, many of the cameos are dirty and would benefit from a good clean. Some of the items may be in need of repair.

Lot 340

Two items of Wedgwood jasper jewellery, to include a silver oval blue cameo brooch depicting two Grecian ladies (Length-5cms, width-3.4cms) and a pair of circular silver blue cameo clip on earrings depicting the side profile of a Grecian lady (diameter-2.1cms). Both items are in generally good condition, there are minor scratches and sections of tarnishing to the outer rim of the brooch. The bar and clasp are in good condition. The cameos are in good condition, they are a little dirty. There is a small amount of tarnishing to the back clip on fittings of the earrings.

Lot 346

Four Scottish design items to include a silver 1970s citrine set openwork brooch, two silver kilt pins and a silver brooch. In good general condition. Citrine brooch hallmarked Edinburgh 1977 and has what appears to be an intertwined H and J as sponsors' mark, citrine has an external chip to pavilion facets that can be seen through the table, silver is showing some wear and tear/discolouration, measures approximately 4.3cm in diameter. The two kilt pins are also hallmarked, one with raised bead detail is hallmarked Edinburgh 1978(?), the other Birmingham 1937,-both are showing wear and tear/some discolouration, diameter 4.8cm. The circular brooch is hallmarked Birmingham 1936, the metal is showing wear and tear and some discolouration and there are a few nicks at the edges, diameter 4cm

Lot 347

Six items to include a Victorian locket with front monogram and engraving to the reverse, a Scottish silver and citrine brooch of stag head design, a silver bi-colour bar brooch depicting Queen Victoria, a jet leaf and berry brooch and two other silver brooches (some AF). In good general condition. The locket is not stamped but appears to be silver, the monogram is patterned and the locket is engraved with Nov 21st 1876 to reverse, it opens to reveal a portrait photograph of a young woman and one of a man, measures 6cm (including pendant loop) by 3.8cm, the metal is showing wear and tear and some discolouration. The stag head brooch . The Victorian bar brooch appears to be hallmarked but the stampings are difficult to make out, measures 4.7cm across, the metal is showing wear and tear and some discolouration. The jet brooch could do with a clean, pin straight but is loose in clasp. Two other items include a rectangular brooch missing its pin with horse head and horse shoe decoration, measures 3.7 by 2.8cm, hallmarked Birmingham 1896 and a Scottish style brooch, set with agate, the pin is straight and a little loose in the clasp. The stag head brooch was originally catalogued as silver but we are unsure about the hallmarkand front of the brooch, the

Lot 350

Fourteen brooches to include two oval banded agate brooches, an intertwined design moss agate set brooch, a marquise shape moonstone set brooch, a silver onyx set brooch with outer Celtic design and various others (some items AF). All of the items are in fair condition, there are general scratches to all of the metal and silver work. Some of the gemstones are missing and there is abrasion and cracks to many of the gemstones. Some items are in need of repair.

Lot 415

A silver Art deco style marcasite, onyx and pale blue glass set necklace, with three suspended rectangular shape panels inter spaced by onyx set links leading along to each termination by marcasite detail. Length-36cms/14 inches. The necklace is in generally good condition. There is a piece of marcasite missing from one of the links. There are scratches and tarnishing to the silver, wear and tear. Some of the collets surrounding to onyx are a little bent out of shape. There are scratches to some of the gemstones. The clasp is a little loose and may need attention.

Six items to include a Victorian butterfly and floral design bar brooch, a large boulder opal pendant, a silver and butterfly wing circular brooch, a 1970s silver millefiori openwork brooch, one further silver brooch and a small gem set bar brooch. In good general condition. Broochs are either hallmarked or stamped as silver. All showing signs of wear and tear and discolouration in areas. The pendant white metal backing is not stamped or hallmarked, the opal has some surface cracks. The small gem set bar brooch is not marked.

Lot 418

Silver curb link necklet with a central drop of ten graduating pale blue sapphires, length 54cms. Necklace in a fair condition. Silver is quite tarnished, especially around the sapphires. Some scratches from general wear and tear, Stones secure in their settings, with slight abrasion to their facet edges.

Lot 419

A silver gilt and nephrite jade set necklace with a central circular panel with overlaid green horse design leading out by alternating doughnut shaped jade links and circular textured links to the clasp. Length-44cms/17 inches. The necklace is in generally good condition. There are minor sections of scratches and tarnishing to the silver. The tarnishing is more noticeable to the back of the links. There are marks to the back of the central circular panel which reads 1989 FM Sterling 925. The horse and jade are in generally good condition. The clasp is in good condition.

Silver gilt, enamel and white paste Masonic commemorative pendant for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee with enamelled crown leading to a Masonic design with central diamond shaped panel depicting Queen Victoria's profile and bordered by round cut white paste and enamelled '1837' and '1897' either side. Hallmarked London 1897. Measures 6cm by 3.5cm.

Four Albert chains with T-bar and shield shaped pendants to include a Victorian silver graduating curb link single Albert chain, two other silver single chains and a white metal curb link chain. In good general condition though all could do with a clean. The graduating curb link Albert chain, T-bar and shield charm are hallmarked Birmingham 1876, each link in the chain is stamped but the markings are worn as are some of the link joins, measures approximately 33cm (13 inches). A second silver example with a chain of uniform curb links, appears to be hallmarked Birmingham 1920s, each link is stamped but they are worn and in particular to the link joins, the lobster claw clasps are in need of repair as they don't open/close properly, measures approximately 32cm (12.5 inches). The other silver chain is made up of circular links, these are worn and nicked at edges, the chain has a shield attached that is hallmarked Birmingham 1898, measures approximately 38cm (15 inches). The other chain has a shield charm and T-bar attached, the T-bar is stamped 'white metal', both the links and charm are showng wear and tear, measures 24cm (9.5 inches).
