Provenance: A Private Collection. John Walker (1877-1948) was a highly acclaimed designer, sculptor and craftsman in gold, silver and bronze. Educated at the Edinburgh School of Art, Walker was later master at the Sheffield Arts & Crafts Guild from 1927-28 and was appointed designer and supervisor of the Arts Department at Elkington & Co.

E. BEVAN COITY WALLIA COMMONS 1921-36', length 7.4cm, approx. weight 3.8oz. Provenance: A Private Collection. Coity is a village in Wales and is now an area of Bridgend, South Wales, W.E Bevan, was the solicitor and clerk to the local council and was most helpful to the local people, by way of gratitude they presented him with this match box cover, it stood on his desk until he died in 1949.
