A George IV silver salver (by Barak Mewburn, London, 1827), 26 cm diameter, 24 oz CONDITION REPORTS Salver has various wear and scuffs, there does not appear to have been any erasing to any wording, crest to centre is quite clear and hallmarks have some slight wear but are still quite clear, legs fit quite square and firmly on a flat surface.
A collection of 19th Century silver "Fiddle" pattern cutlery, each with a bird of prey motif to the handles, including five table forks, five dessert forks, six tablespoons, six dessert spoons, four teaspoons, sauce ladle and serving spoon (various dates and makers), 56.3 oz
A George IV silver chamberstick with associated snuffer (by John and Thomas Settle, Sheffield, 1828), 15 cm diameter at base, 8.5 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some wear and scuffs, various small knocks and dents, some slight mis-shaping to candle holder and is not quite upright. Due to the slight denting/mis-shaping the chamberstick does not sit quite square/firmly on a flat surface.
A Victorian silver pierced sugar basket with blue glass liner (by William Pope, London, 1873), 13 cm high, 7 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with general wear and scuffs. Liner is quite a lot smaller than the basket so appears to be associated. Hallmarks have some wear but are still quite clear and the corners of some of the hallmarks are cut away at the pierced decoration. There are some marks / creasing where the hinge of the handle meets the body of the basket.
A George III silver chamberstick (by John Mewburn, London, 1800), 13 cm diameter, 5.5 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some wear and scuffs, some slight denting and mis-shaping, chamberstick does not sit quite square when placed on a flat surface, makers mark is rubbed and there is some wear to the hallmarks, some denting generally and some mis-shaping, there is no candle snuffer, repair to the handle (please see photos).
A George III oval silver and pierced coaster on four scroll feet (by Solomon Hougham, London, 1796), 15.5 cm long, 7.3 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some wear and scuffs, some denting and mis-shaping overall including mis-shaping and some slight squashing to the galleried pierced sides and to legs, four retaining tabs to the underside are quite uneven in shape (see photos), wooden base appears to have been either refurbished or replaced.
An early 19th Century hollow silver goblet with embossed decoration on a hexagonal foot (by Duncan Urquhart and Naphtali Hart, London, 1830), 16 cm high, 9.1 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, some knocks and dents, some mis-shaping including quite a lot of mis-shaping to foot which means that the goblet is quite wobbly when stood on a flat surface, some repairs to foot, cartouches are vacant but are quite uneven so may have had some erasing of previous details.
An Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co. "Cymric" silver ink stand, the double rising lid embossed with Celtic knot decoration and inset with oval cabochon turquoise, opening to reveal a glazed pottery ink well, the tapering sides with openwork Celtic knot decoration on four bracket feet, model No. 5106 (by Liberty & Co., Birmingham 1902), 12.5 cm square, 15.07 oz (for illustration of same model see Stephen A. Martin "Archibald Knox", page 225) CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some wear and scuffs, some slight mis-shaping to the handles to the lids to top, a few small knocks and dents plus a fairly large dent to one side (please see photos for examples), a repair to the pierced decoration to one of the sides, overall with some tarnish and wear, approx. 5 cm high excluding handles.
An Edwardian Archibald Knox for Liberty & Co. "Cymric" silver pen tray, the corners set with cabochon cut turquoise, stamped with design number "5184" to base (by Liberty & Co., Birmingham 1903), 26.5 cm x 7 cm, 4.64 oz CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some general wear and scuffs, various tarnish and marks including a rectangular mark possibly where a previous sticker has been located, some denting/unevenness to shape of the silver to the back of the inset stones, some dents and mis-shaping to corners and to edges.
An Edwardian silver desk stand with two cut glass ink wells on silver tray (by William Hutton & Sons Ltd., Sheffield 1906), 26 cm wide, 6.55 oz CONDITION REPORTS Tray : one of the oval holders for the glass ink well has missing rivet so holder is currently loose, generally with some wear and scufs and a few minor knocks and dents. One ink well with large chip to foot rim and some smaller chips to top rim. Other ink well appears to be sound, with just some minor frits to the top rim. Aperture to the silver tops to the top of the glass ink wells approx. 8 mm diameter, aperture to top of glass ink well is approx. 2.2 cm across (internally).
A pair of Edwardian silver Corinthian column table candlesticks (by Henry Wigfull for Lee & Wigfull, Sheffield 1901), 23.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some general wear and scuffs. A few small knocks and dents and a few scratches. Some slight mis-shaping to the drip pans. The candlesticks stand fairly sturdily though there is some slight movement when they are on a flat surface.
A George V silver mounted oak oval drinks tray with fan marquetry inlaid decoration and pierced rim, raised on bun feet (by Saint Arnaud Creake for Hammond Creake & Co., Sheffield, 1912), 58 cm long CONDITION REPORTS Oak has some drinks and water stains, knocks, bumps and general wear and scuffs, some lifting to inlay, mounts have some screws/rivets missing, bun feet have some knocks and dents, gallery has some slight mis-shaping.
A 1930's ladies pigskin vanity case with silver and shagreen fittings (by Collett & Anderson, London 1937), housed in a brown leather case with canvas jacket, 61 cm x 19.5 cm CONDITION REPORTS Outer canvas cover with various wear, dirt and stains, main pigskin covered case with some knocks and bumps, some wear and a few stains but generally in tidy order. Inner lift-out tray folds up to form a further smaller vanity case. All items with various wear and scuffs, some stains and dirt, some sections missing to lids of bottles and to necks of bottles, face of clock is loose and it is not known whether clock is in working order or not, majority of contents appear to be present although are not complete as there are several clips etc. which are empty. Fabric to interior has some wear, dirt and stains.
The Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George Companions (CMG) breast badge, silver gilt and enamel, in original Garrard & Co. Limited London fitted case CONDITION REPORTS Ribbon has wear, creasing, stains and has been over-sewn and has some ribbon/ties sewn to it. Medal itself has some tarnish and light wear, plus some wear and knocks to loop/ring to top but generally appears to be in good order. Black case inscribed "C.M.G." has some wear and scuffs. Height of medal approx 6.5cm including the fixed loop but excluding the free-moving loop. Total weight including loops is 29.6g approx.
Fourteen 18th Century French miniature ivories set into silver mounted buttons, with foil backs, featuring hunting scenes, fishing scenes, maidens with animals, etc, 3.75 cm diameter CONDITION REPORTS All buttons with tarnishing to the silver, and all buttons with some very faint light scratches. Button with the Man seated with dog; Leafy swag border is broken on riight hand side, and a split to the lower. Woman seated with dog, split / crack to rear of lady, and split behind dog. Running fom tail downwards. Split to the floral swag border. Woman seated with dog; Small split to the leaf border at lower. Woman with cherub; Part of tree is detached and loose, with another smaller piece broken off. Man fishing; where the land meets the border is split. Man with dogs and gun; Small part of tree broken off and is loose. Woman with accordian(?); some white dust in button. All with small signs of wear and tear. Glass fronts to buttons appear OK. The oval frames on which the buttons are mounted are not glazed.
