An undated archaistic silver-coloured metal ceremonial axe with blade issuing from the mouth of a horned monstrous head, shank with three radiating male faces, horse-head finial. 614 grams, 28cm (11"). Property of a London gentleman; acquired before 1996. Fine condition.
20th century AD. A pair of bracelets each formed from eight silver threepence coins of Victoria, Edward VII, George V and George VI linked at edges, fitted with spring clasps. 25 grams total, 18cm (7"). Property of a Kent collector; acquired London, 1980s. [2, No Reserve] Very fine condition.
3rd-1st century BC. A shallow silver bowl with flat centre and flange rim, ring of radiating curved ribs in a whorl pattern. See Godard, F. The Art of Iran, London, 1965. 355 grams, 17cm (6 3/4"). Property of a UK gentleman; previously in an old German collection; acquired before 1990. Fine condition, some leaching out of copper to the internal surfaces, brushed.
8th-9th century AD. A mixed group of bronze strap ends comprising: one Class A Type 5 with niello to the body, scrolled upper edge pierced to accept two rivets, beast-head finial; one Class B Type 3 slender leaf-shaped with beast-head finial; one Class A Type 5 with bulbous eyes, elongated ears; one Class A Type 2 tongue-shaped with niello panel, narrow snake-head finial; one Class A Type 5 with niello and silver wire detailing, three attachment holes. I. R. I. W. a circular silver tray with scallop and gadrooned cast edge and florally engraved centre around an initialled cartouche, Newcastle 1815. Condition Report: 39cms diameter, 41.4 ozt.Centre is monogrammed. Not thin. Has not been erased and re-engraved.
Two silver wine coasters, hallmarks for Birmingham 1957 and 1962, each with turned wood base, together with a moulded glass butter dish with silver cover and stand, a silver plated circular tray, three pierces of cranberry glass an Aynsley Cottage Garden lidded pot and a similar milk jug.
