ROLLS ROYCE SILVER MODEL. A solid silver model of a 1907 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, designed by Cyril J Lewis Fine Jewels, of Investment Models, Hatton Gardens, London, as a desk piece. No. 15 in limited edition of 1,000 pieces, the miniature 1:24 scale model is constructed from individually cast solid silver parts including spare wheel, lamps, horns, miniature AA mascot, etc. The number plate PRP1 featuring the initials of the original owner. Standing on green marble display base with title plaque. Hallmarked to the base for London 1976, & makers mark C J L. Length approx. 19cm. Approx. 666.2g. (21.42 t. oz.) Original wooden 'transport crate' & original Investment Models booklet & Guarantee certificate, dated 25th April 1977, confirming that this car is 15th of 1,000, & was ordered by Mrs. J.W.P..... The front wheels are no longer straight, but inclined inwards. One front lamp is loose. The marble is clean and undamaged. The 'transport crate' appears to have some modifications and the lid will no longer fit snuggly. The Investment Models booklet has got damp and can no longer be opened, although the Guarantee page can be read. Outer packaging carton very worn. PLEASE NOTE: SINCE CATALOGUING, ONE OF THE BUCKLED FRONT WHEELS HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE CHASSIS AND WILL REQUIRE RESTORATION WORK..
