A Japanese Meiji period lacquer box, decorated with lotus leaves and flowers, with the petals inset with mother of pearl, silver rim and signed to the underside of the lid, 14 x 11cm, height 7cmCondition: some dis-colouration to the dark brown lacquer of the lid showing as some patchiness, also probably some wear with a slightly lighter reddish colour showing through from the underside, light scuffing on the inside of the box, rim of the base has some small chips running around it, outer base of the box again with some patchy discolouration of the brown lacquer, a gold speckle effect to the underside.

An unusual late Victorian silver combination whistle and propelling pencil?, with clip terminals, Mappin Brothers, Sheffield, 1900, 22.2cm, 5oz, Condition: Quite tarnished, both clip springs now loose, no pencil lead. Whistle works. Hallmarks clear, but with some rubbing.

Twelve 20th century Birks sterling handled knives and a cheese knife and server and three other silver handled knives. Condition: 2 of the knife blades have nicks to the edges, otherwise quite clean. Minor surface scratches in general to the handles of all pieces consistent with some use. Some visible tarnishing.

Two deep scratches with slight dents also to one side. Two other minor dents. Numerous minor surface scratches in general. Hallmarks clear. Marks on handle a little rubbed.

A pair of modern silver dwarf candlesticks, Birmingham, 1963, 10.7cm, a pair of similar plated candlesticks, a 1960's silver cigarette box, a silver travelling inkwell, a silver and shagreen cigarette case and a shagreen and base metal match case. Condition: Silver candlesticks in good order. Plated sticks have plating wear in places. Cigarette box has minor surface scratches otherwise in good order. Inkwell has monogram and large dent to the side and lid. Shagreen pieces in mildly used condition.

Condiment set- Joseph Gloster Ltd, Birmingham, 1937, lacking original spoons. Top of handle broken away from body of the mustard. Dents on top of both peppers.

Condition: Twelve each of the following- soup spoons, teaspoons, coffee spoons, table forks, table knives and fish knives. Five piece carving set. Overall good condition, with some minor scratches in places, indicating some mild usage. Canteen comes with some Garrard & Co velvet pouches.

A George VI silver sugar caster by Mappin & Webb, Sheffield, 1938, 18.6cm, 5 oz. Condition: Small dent to the lower part of the main body. A couple of other very small dings. Minor surface scratches in places and some tarnish marks. Hallmarks clear.

Lot 614

A George V eleven piece silver mounted dressing table set, by Asprey & Co, London, 1928, mirror 27.2cm. Condition: All pieces quite tarnished and engraved with the initial K, which in turn, is quite tired. All would benefit from a good clean. The mirror has an engraved date on the handle. All the glass pieces have minor chips around the base rim except one jar which has a large chip. All the silver mounts on the brushes have visible small dents and knocks. Three of the silver mounts for the jars have small knocks/dents. Bristles missing from one of the small brushes. Some of the hallmarks are rubbed. Overall average condition.

Lot 615

A late Victorian repousse silver mounted easel mirror by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, London, 1899, overall 57.2cm. Condition: Gibson & Langham maker's mark. Would benefit from a good clean. There are two small holes and a small split to the silver within the central scroll decoration at the top. Therer are one or two tiny holes beginning to appear within the rest of the decoration. Hallmarks clear. Mirror plate with some marks. Velvet on back a little worn and stained in places. Tag to pull out arm now missing.

Lot 616

A George IV silver pepperette, a continental repousse white metal trinket box, a tortoiseshell mounted magnifying glass and a gilt metal mounted agate snuff box. Condition: Pepper in very poor condition, repair, dented and very worn hallmark.Trinket box in good order. Magnifying glass chipped and the surface of the tortoiseshell is quite worn and scratched. Agate box in good order.
