A cased Austro-Hungarian silver moth brooch, with hinged hindwings. The naturalistic moth with niello enamel decorated forewings, the concealed hindwings hinged to reveal recesses, possibly for photographs. Austro-Hungarian 800 standard mark 1867-1872 CONDITION REPORT: No obvious damage.The recessed areas to the wings probably held photographs or images although there is to glazing present.49mm across the wings.

Lot 336

A late Victorian pearl and diamond cluster brooch/pendant, c.1890,with a slightly bouton shaped pearl, set to the centre of a scrolling foliate surround cup and peg set with pearls, between pairs of rub set, old Swiss cut diamonds, the scrolls grain set with old Swiss cut and rose cut diamonds to a detachable brooch frame. A fold down eyelet, original bale deficient, suspended on a modern silver chain. Pearls untested CONDITION REPORT: Two cracks to the bezel of the collet for the centre pearl.Possible had a diamond set bale originally.

Lot 349

A late Victorian sapphire and diamond closed crescent brooch, with rose cut diamonds in box collets. Graduated rose cut diamonds to a central spray of rose cut diamond set leaves, and blue Swiss cut sapphire buds to blade edge bars. Later rhodium plated CONDITION REPORT: This piece has been later rhodium plate, and is probably silver set, and backed in gold, underneath the rhodium.Settings appear secure.Clasp secure.

A rare matching set of nine Dutch silver hanoverian pattern dessert spoons and nine three prong dessert forks comprising;eight dessert spoons and six dessert forks,by Bernardus Van Haaps, Nijmegen 1792,one dessert spoon and three dessert forks, by Hendricus J Wolterbeek, Nijmegen 1766/67,all engraved on reverse with coat of arms of Van Wassenaar*,21oz,in addition a set of twelve knives, with silver ferrules and ivory handles inset with shield shaped cartouches (30)*By descent through Baronesse Turk Van Wassenaar Tot Sint Pancras. CONDITION REPORT: Spoons: one has a solder repair across bowl to base of stem. Two have small splits to tips of bowls. Another has a small dent to bowl. Light wear. Some of the tines of the forks are slightly worn and bent. Knives have splits to handles and corrosion to blades. Mounts to ends of handles are worn. One is missing and another has a solder repair.

A Dutch five-piece silver-mounted blue glass cruet set,by Jan W Pas, Nijmegen 1795/1811,comprising:four salts,of boat shape on pedestal oval feet with beaded borders, with plain scroll handles and reeded upper rims, 9cm high and 11.5cm long, anda two handled mustard of urn shape,the domed cover with reeded knop finial, 13cm high,with a silver mustard ladle,in addition a set of three silver mounted glass coasters,of plain circular form with fine beaded borders, 11.5 cm diameter (9) CONDITION REPORT: Some nibbles to glass bodies. Top rim of mustard is coming away from the blue glass lines. Appears to have been re-glued, with some damage to rim of glass. Two salts have repaired splits to rims. Areas of tarnish to all salts. All salts have the silver rims coming away from the glass and loose bases. Dishes have scratches and rims are loose and worn in placed. Please view additional images (upon request).
