GEORGE GAULT IRISH (1916 - 2001), THE ROSSES, Co.DONEGAL, oil on board, signed to lower right, 45cms x 57.5cms, titled, signed and dated 1952 to label verso. George Gault was born in Belfast in 1916. Studied at Camberwell School of Art and won the Silver Medal at the Paris Salon 1954. The works offered here were 'swopped' for groceries from the vendor, a friend and neighbour in post-war London, circa 1948.
