(7cm.) high, weight 3.7 tr.oz. * This is possibly a 20th century copy of an 18th century Guernsey christening cup. The finish to the interior is unusually uneven and the exterior very smoothly polished, showing a distinctly different finish from other 18th century cups, although the method of construction appears to be identical.

A fine and rare late 18th century Channel Islands silver rococo decorated coffee pot, maker's mark IA struck three times to base (unknown, Guernsey c.1763-1807), with engraved armorial for the Carey family of Guernsey, nicely engraved scratch weight '35 oz' to base, of baluster form with repoussé and engraved flowers and foliage around a scroll bordered cartouche, the hinged, domed and waisted cover with overhanging petalled rim and fluted finial, the spout with shell mount and spout and scroll decoration, the wooden handle also on shell mounts, on a flared flute and reed banded base, 10½in. (26.5cm.) high, gross weight 35.5 tr.oz. * This is believed to be the only coffee pot by the maker IA in existence and probably the finest piece of silver known by the maker, its quality comparable to the best London standard of silverwork.
