Personal Silverware from Saddam Hussein Dinner Service, an interesting silver plated coffee pot made by the French silversmiths Chrisotel, having their mark to the underside. Engraved to the centre of the pot is the Iraqi eagle emblem whilst under the rule of Saddam Hussein. Remains in generally good condition. This item was liberated from one of Saddam’s Royal Palaces by an American serviceman who was serving during the liberation of Iraq. Very reminiscent of the images of American 101st Airborne troops and other American troops liberating the Adolf Hitler personal dinner service silverware at the end of WW2.

A Great War silver Canadian Memorial Cross, Officially named “466238 PTE J DICKINSON”, also marked ‘STERLING’ on the lower arm. James Dickinson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne on 31st March 1893, he enlisted into the Canadian army in Medicine Hat on 3rd July 1915. He joined the 7th Battalion on his arrival in England in May 1915. He was initially reported as wounded on 9th September 1916, this was later changed to wounded and missing and was later presumed dead on or since 9th September 1916. A later note on his service record confirms he was killed in action, he now rests in an identified grave in Ovillers Military Cemetery, France. This Memorial Cross was issued to his Mother, Racheal Dickinson.
