FINE GEORGE V SILVER 'ROYAL BURGH OF GIRVIN' FREEDOM PRESENTATION CASKET,maker George & John Morgan, Glasgow 1931, the hinged caddy cover with inscription 'PRESENTED ALONG WITH THE BURGESS TICKET OF THE BURGH OF BARONY TO THE RIGHT HONOURABLE JAMES BROWN P.C., O.B.E., M.P., D.L., LL. D. IN RECOGNITION OF HIS EMINENT SERVICES TO HIS NATIVE LAND AND PARTICULARLY TO THE BURGH OF GIRVAN. GIRVIN, 7TH OCTOBER 1931', the body with egg and dart border over panels of Celtic knots and dragons, with central Girvan coat of arms to one side, and JB, three-quarter columns to the corners, over draped swags and rope twist border, and acanthus cast bracket, silk lined interior, 25.5cm wide, 15.5cm deep, 13.5cm high, the casket containing scrolled certificate with wax seal and minutes relating to Brown becoming a Freeman and Burgess of the BurghCondition generally good. Wear as per use and age. Slight discolour to lined interior.

JAPANESE WWII-PERIOD SHIN-GUNTO,the fullered steel blade stamped 70430, over a bronze tsuba, and a cast metal simulated silk bound shagreen grip, 92cm long, with original scabbardCondition generally fair. The blade with degree of pitting, nibbles and bites to edge; would benefit from overall clean. General age and use related wear throughout. The grip appears to have possibly been overpainted in a silver colour. The scabbard has been covered in black tape. Additional images now available.Press stud functions.Scabbard is in poor condition, have removed one section of tape and will need thorough clean upon all being removed. Serial number on scabbard mouthpiece matches blade. Nu,bet of small dents and dings to scabbard.Blade straight despite damages,The scabbard is slightly bent to left, though blade sits fine within.
