A large collection of late 1960s to early 1970s Barbie doll outfits and accessories - contained in a vintage rexine suitcase, including approx. thirty full or near complete outfits (separated in bags); and a large quantity of other loose clothing (including swimwear) and accessories including shoes, boots, jewellery, bags and purses, hats, hairpieces, hair brushes, combs and curlers, tights and stockings and sunglasses, most contained in two small banks of drawers; together with a 'Modern Teen Fashions for Francis & Casey' card with buttons and zippers; and a Palitoy Pippa doll in a silver evening dress.* This collection of Barbie clothing and accessories was collected from new by one of two sisters, who each bought a Barbie doll and carry case in around 1967-1968, when both were aged in their late fifties. The sisters lived together and each had their own Barbie doll and case containing their a collection of outfits and accessories, which they added to over the following ten years or so, plus an ' overflow' case of spare outfits and accessories. The dolls were regularly taken out and carefully dressed in different outfits, to be displayed in the front windows of their cottage for holidays and special occasions. When the two sisters passed away, their dolls and cases were left to their local church, at which they were regular attendees. They have been stored ever since and have now been consigned for sale, to raise much needed church funds. Please see lots 589 and 590 for the other two lots from this superb collection.
