A small miscellany of GWR silver-plated items - a half-pint tankard by Elkington clearly displaying the pre-grouping "GWR Refreshment Department" garter crest on the side; a milk jug (31/2" tall) displaying the "Great Western Railway Hotels" full crest on the side; and a two-handled sugar bowl displaying the "GWR Restaurant Car" scroll and full crest on the side. All three pieces in very good, original condition.
A Great Central Railway silver-plated one-pint tankard, by Walker & Hall, pinched-waist style. The side clearly displays the large "Great Central Railway" garter crest enclosing the letters "YG". An acanthus decorated handle. Minor dents at the base, otherwise in good, original condition. The Yarborough Hotel Grimsby was taken over by the MS&LR in 1890, sold in 1952 and is still open.
