An early George III silver shaped circular salver, plain crested field, the applied border pierced and cast with shells and leafy scrolls, acanthus scroll feet, 31cm diam, lion passant only to border, maker TP, London 1760, 27ozHeraldry: Arms of Matthias Kerrison of Bungay and Hoxne Hall, Suffolk (1742-1827), probably then newly granted. He was father of General Sir Edward Kerrison, GCB, the victor of Othes in 1814, and who received in 1821 a baronetcy and an augmentation (modification?) to his arms. Baronetcy extinct 1886. Provenance probably Hoxne Hall.
