Complete with original white rubber tyres. Boxed with internal packing, QGC. Some age wear overall to box and vehicle. Plus a silver rubber barrage balloon to suit with winch. Balloon has deflated and is damaged.

Most boxed, minor/some wear/some damage, vehicles VGC to as new.

Cab in light blue with yellow interior and silver trailer. Both vehicles complete with trailer bogie wheels. Boxed with packing, (‘S’ type) and display insert to TK. Both boxes some wear/damage. Vehicles QGC-GC some wear/chipping.

(14) Note: HMS Vanguard blew up on 9th July 1917 at her berth at Scapa Flow caused by an accidental ammunition explosion. Over 800 of her crew were killed.

An Imperial German Forestry District marksman’s neck or breast chain with 9 various shooting prize medals etc, including 5 “silver” and “gold” crosses for Fleestedt 1902 and 1903, “gold” and “silver” medals for Fleestedt 1899 and 1901, a large WM medal “Fur Vortrefflighe Leistung”, and a Prussian silver thaler of 1859; also an embossed silver plated award with suspender for the “IX Deutsches Turnfest Hamburg 1898”, mounted in a modern glazed display case. A Third Reich plated nickel silver cigarette case, the lid with engine turned background and superimposed medallion with in the centre the head of a soldier within wreath and swastika below, the back with swastika in wreath, the inside stamped with small eagle and swastika and serial number “540”. GC (plating worn)
An interesting Highland officer’s dirk of the Shanghai Scottish, plain blade 12”, with back fuller for ¾ length, studded strapwork hilt, ball pommel and cap with regimental badge, 2 silver bands to grip with Shanghai (?) mark, in its leather sheath, the mounts embossed with St Andrew in thistle wreath and thistle sprays, companion knife and fork on safety chains. An interesting family sword, being an 1854 pattern officer’s sword of the Coldstream Guards, slightly curved, fullered, plated blade 32” by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, no 141104 (for 1865) on backstrap, etched with crowned VR cypher, regimental badge, laurel wreath, 10 battle honour scrolls “Egypt” and Sphinx to (later added) “Magersfontein”, with family crest and scroll “L.P. Dawnay”, silver plated regulation hilt incorporating regimental badge, chequered backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its plated scabbard. GC (minor plating wear and bubbling) Plate 1 Note: The sword of the Hon. Lewis Payn Dawnay, 2nd Son of the 7th Viscount Downe (Ensign Coldstream Gds 1865, retired Lt Col 1882) and then of his son, Guy Payan Dawnay, DSO (Lieut. Coldstream Gds 1899, distinguished career, retired Major General 1919) who served throughout the Boer War, including Magersfontein, and evidently had that battle honour added to the blade which was then chromed and the hilt silver plated.
A 20th century Borneo head hunter’s sword Mandau, blade 24” inlaid with copper studs, the carved bone hilt with hair tufts and plaited wire bound grip, in its carved bone mounted scabbard with bands of trimmed red and black hair, the pierced bone panels backed with silver foil. Basically GC (worn, one bone panel missing)
A good quality 70 bore percussion boxlock pocket pistol, 5” overall, turn off ribbed barrel 1½”, London proved, the frame engraved with scrolls, toothed borders and “Child, London”, hidden trigger, finely chequered rounded walnut butt with small engraved silver cap and vacant escutcheon.
