A Victorian silver trophy cup with bright cup decoration, the cup supported on a tripod base formed by two oars and a boat hook and with rope twist detailing, the cup awarded by the Merionethshire Agricultural Society, and presented by Charles Edwards Esq of Dolserau for Best Heffer in Premiums 10, 12 and 14, marks for London 1871 and makers mark for Thomas Smily, 9 3/4" high.

An Edwardian silver trophy cup presented to Mrs and Mrs H.W. Young by the employees at 13, Bridge Street on the occasion of their Silver Wedding, October 14th 1921, the cup with scrolling handles and on turned base with ebonised socle, the cup 7 1/2" high and weighing approx 440gms, marks for Birmingham 1903. Henry William Young was born in 1871 and received his education in Witney, Oxon. He worked in the shops of Daniel Young of Witney from 1885 to 1891, then two years at Crewe Mechanics I

London & North Eastern Railway complimentary Silver Link No. 2509 Model Paperweight. Still in its original box and complete with a small printed card that reads: "Coronation Year Cruises Of The Northern Belle, With The Compliments Of The London And North Eastern Railway". The model, on plinth, measures approximately 5½" in length and has the LNER 'winking eye' motif at each end. One side bears the inscription 'Locomotive Of The Silver Jubilee', the other side 'Streamline Engine Silver Link'. Excellent condition with just minimal rubbing to the box and loco. Best example we have ever seen.

Lot 116

North Eastern Railway silver plated Candlesticks, a wonderful, matching pair manufactured by Elkington. Standing 10½" tall on 5" square, scalloped bases, both are marked with the NER 'buckle' crest and inscribed 'West Hartlepool'. From one of the NER lesser known hotels. Wonderful condition throughout and would grace the finest of tables set with railway silver.

Oxford Worcester & Wolverhampton Railway Silver Pass with full title engraved in old, script lettering on one side and 'Thos Williams GWR' engraved on the obverse. Affixed to a chain having an early, GWR inscribed Wooden Whistle and a later, GWR engraved Brass Acme Thunderer Whistle. Also attached to the chain, a silver GWR St. Johns Ambulance Association Badge.

Lot 288

LMS Silver Ashtray measuring just 3¼" in diameter with 3 indents. Engraved in early LMS style and being hallmarked silver. A quite exquisite item not seen before by us. The hallmark shows that of Elkington & Co., Birmingham and dates the item at 1928/9. It is very doubtful this would not have been used in the Hotels or on ordinary trains.
