A SWISS SILVER GILT AND MAUVE GUILLOCHE ENAMEL SINGING BIRD BOX with clockwork mechanism and feathered bird automaton enclosed by an oval lid painted with a view of Geneva in border of split pearls, the underside engraved with flowers and scrolling foliage, 9 x 5.5cm, apparently unmarked, c1900 ++A fine quality example with two minute edge knocks to the enamel in the sky on the oval lid, the mechanism sticking somewhat. The lid not rising or closing automatically but these faults appear to be only minor mechanical issues which could be easily rectified. No restoration or re-enamelling and a particularly good quality example

AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY GOTHIC REVIVAL SILVER, SILVER GILT AND GARNET CIBORIUM, CHALICE AND PATEN, by Frederick Denby Wray, London 1909, the chalice having a conical bowl held within a deep silver gilt calyx of inverted arch panels of raised trefoil tracery with floral crockets, the hexagonal tracery stem with large lobed knop, collet set with six garnet cabouchons, above a convex collar and pointed trefoil ogee arched tracery, on a hexagonal lobed and spreading foot raised on pierced diamond gallery and flange, 22cms high; the ciborium having a stepped domed cover with a bottonée cross collet set with a garnet cabouchon, the hemispheral bowl on conforming stem and base, 30.5cms high; a silver gilt paten engraved with the sacred monogram within a sunburst cartouche, 14cms diameter (London 1901), total approximate weight 53ozs.
