Victorian Royal Horse Artillery Officer’s Sword c.1846 by Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall London, un-numbered, straight un-fullered single edge blade with gold proof stamp, etched with crowned royal arms, cipher, regimental badge, thunderflash within ROYAL HORSE ARTILLERY all within tight foliage, together with owner’s crest, regulation triple bar guard, silver wire bound fish skin covered grip. Blade 90.5cms, overall 105cms. Good condition, covered in old varnish, minor age wear. Crest and motto of 2nd Lieut. Alexander John MacDougall, commissioned 6.8.1846, 1st Lieut. 7.5.1847, Second Captain 30.5.1854.
Large Russian Dagger Kindjal, broad straight double edge blade cut with 3 fullers, silver plated copper hilt and large scabbard mounts with scrolled decoration, in its leather covered scabbard. Blade 41cms, overall 53cms. Good condition, plating worn. Late 20th century period.
WW2 British 1st Pattern Fairbairn Sykes (F.S) Commando Knife by Wilkinson Sword, excellent example of the nickel silver 1st pattern commando knife with “S” shaped guard and cross hatched grip with brass nut fitting to the top. Double edged stiletto type blade with Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London etched to the base of the blade to one side and The FS Fighting Knife to the base of the other side. Housed in its original brown leather scabbard with nickel silver lower chape. The blade has the initials of the original owner “G.A.P”. Some light spotting to the blade. Overall a excellent example. Blade measures 17 ½ cms, overall 33cms.
^ Large Silver Mounted Indian or Nepalese Presentation Kukri, c 1940, well made blade stamped with dots WITH BEST COMPLIMENTS TO COL.A.R.NYE FROM 3 A.R, ivory hilt, in its silver mounted leather covered sheath, locket pierced and deeply chiselled with a stylised face, pair of snakes, flowers and foliage, silver rectangle stamped PRESENTED TO COL. A.R. NYE, silver wire belt, leather pocket contains ivory handled companion knife and chuk muk. Blade 32.5cms, overall 46cms. Good condition, leather pouch detached but present. Capt. A R Nye, Prince of Wales’s Own Gurkha Rifles, Gazetted 8/9/1933 for Chitral Relief Oct. 1932.
Spanish Folding Knife Navaja, tapered single edge etched blade, horn hilt with brass mounts, locking spring along back; Spanish folding knife, broad blade etched CUCHILLERIA MARTINEZ-VIGO, EL ESCORIAL, and LA GIBELES with various scenes, horn grips, locking spring to back; and another with clipped back blade, folding brass crosspiece, brass mounted horn grips inset with 4 Spanish silver coins dated 1852-3. Blade 19cms, 16cms and 16cms respectively. Good condition.

Unusual English Percussion Travelling Pistol by Richards, decorated in India c.1840, octagonal barrel with gold damascened flowers at breech and muzzle, with bands of pellets, foliage and lines around breech, muzzle, barrel, hammer, lock, trigger and trigger guard; nickel ramrod rib engraved RICHARDS LONDON, swivel ramrod, nickel frame Birmingham proved and foliate engraved en-suite with back action lock, hinged cap box lid in butt cap. Barrel 12cms, overall 25cms. Good condition, some age wear overall, retaining some silver foil covering to nickel frame.
Good Pair of 38 Bore Percussion Holster Pistols by Parson of Swaffham c 1840, browned octagonal twist barrels engraved Swaffham, fitted with open sights and inlaid with silver breech lines, foliate engraved locks signed Parson, fitted with sliding safety bolts and detented actions, foliate engraved pineapple finialled iron trigger guards, swivel ramrods, nickel escutcheons and barrel wedge plates, rounded chequered grips. Barrels 24cms, overall 37.5cms. Good condition and patina, retaining traces of their original finish overall. William Parson was in business at the Market Place, Swaffham, Norfolk from 1836 to 1865.
Rare and Good Quality 34-Bore Percussion Holster Pistol by William Paris of Derby c.1790, drum converted from flintlock, swamped barrel engraved Derby in script, Tower private proof marks, open sights with silver inlaid fore-sight, gold inlaid breech band, lock signed in script, sliding rear segment safety catch, capstan screw adjustable set trigger, elaborately engraved iron furniture including trigger guard with 2 pineapple finials, iron trigger guard with spiral carved flared tip, figured walnut stock nicely carved shell behind barrel tang, flared chequered butt with flattened sides. Barrel 23cms, overall 35cms. Good untouched condition, excellent age patina.
16-Bore Percussion Holster Pistol breech converted from flintlock, octagonal barrel re-engraved Wogdon London, standing rear sight, stepped lock engraved WOGDON, walnut half stock, horn fore end cap, engraved iron trigger guard with pineapple finial, finely chequered rounded butt, silver escutcheon and barrel wedge plates, brass tipped wooden ramrod with brass capped worm. Barrel 22cms, overall 35cms. Basically good condition, age worn overall, ramrod pipe detached but present.
French Silver Mounted Double Barrel 24-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol reconverted from percussion, barrels with a little floral decoration retaining faint traces of gilding, fullstock carved behind the barrel tang and now with hardwood fore end, silver mounts comprising a grotesque mask buttcap and trigger guard with trophy engraved bow, the latter with French hall marks, stock with a little silver wire inlay. Barrels 20cms, overall 34cms. Good condition, ramrod restored, some age wear.

Fine Turkish Sword Kilij, broad finely pattern welded blade with pronounced yelman gold inlaid with 2 cartouches of script (not translated) one date AH1232 (=1816AD), back edge fluted and with 2 panels of gold damascened decoration, later plain silver mounts, 2 piece horn grips, in its silver mounted scabbard covered with black leather and fitted with 2 hanging rings. Good condition. Blade 74cms.
^ Good Turkish Silver Mounted Sword Yataghan, recurved single edge blade silver inlaid with several inscriptions (not translated) including the date 1125AH (=1713AD), reverse inlaid with conventional foliate design, silver hilt with ear-shaped pommel, inlaid with teardrop-shaped corals, silver filigree work and granulation, in its silver scabbard embossed and chased with rococo ornament including panoplies and city scenes, pierced top section. Good condition, some age wear, scabbard with old repair. Blade 53cms.
Unusual Turkish Brass Hilt Sword Yataghan, recurved single edge blade with good quality silver inlaid full length inscriptions on both sides including toughra and date AH1207 (=1792AD), brass hilt of conventional form inlaid with red beads, in its brass scabbard embossed with flowering foliage overall, top inlaid with red beads. Blade 55.5cms, overall 69.5cms. Good condition.
Turkish Sword Yataghan, recurved single edge blade nicely silver inlaid with a Turkish toughra, inscriptions including the maker’s name, and the date AH1234 (=1819AD), silvered ferules and grip strap embossed with foliage overall, 2 piece black horn grips with large extended pommel ears. Proclaim the good tidings to the faithful. Oh Muhammad! Oh Victorious!’ Silver gilt mounts of good quality, each chased in relief with flowers and a quiver, flaming torch, fasces and bow and arrows, all joined with ribbons, and struck with tughras, 2 piece rhino horn grips, in its black leather covered scabbard with elaborate mounts en-suite. ^ Large Ottoman Silver Mounted Sword Shamshir, mid-19th century, broad curved single edge Persian watered steel blade cut with assorted fullers and with gold inlaid cartouche ‘Servant of the King of Trusteeship (i.e. Ali), (Shah) Abbas’ together with pairs of split palmettes separating the interrupted fullers, extensive silver mounts all struck with tughras and extensive control marks (possibly Egyptian), 2 piece ivory grips, engraved crosspiece, scabbard mounts chased with foliage. Good condition. Blade 81cms.
^ Scarce Ottoman Sword Kilij, Probably Early 18th Century, curved hollow ground sham watered single edge blade possibly from Lvov, with pronounced yelman, with thickly gold inlaid inscribed roundel and inscribed panel (not translated), small gold inlaid foliate motif beside the yelman, later silver-coloured metal crosspiece, gripstrap and scabbard mounts, 2 piece rhino horn grips, in its red velvet covered scabbard with foliate embossed mounts. Good condition. Blade 76cms.
Fine Georgian Niello Silver Mounted Sword Shamshir, late-19th century, earlier Persian curved single edge blade of good quality Qum (gravel meander) watering with an etched cartouche ‘Slave of the King of Trusteeship (i.e. ‘Ali), (Shah) ‘Abbas, 12…’ (the last 2 digits of the date are unclear) together with an earlier cartouche with traces of gold inlay ‘Haydar, the King of Religion, draws the world-seizing sword’. Silver hilt with stylised animal head pommel decorated overall with niello, in its scabbard decorated en-suite, the reverse with nielloed inscription ‘It’s owner Qul (?) Murad Khan bin Nurvard (Nurverdi?) Khan’. Good condition. Blade 82cms.
Fine Quality Georgian (?) Kindjal, late 19th century, plain shallow diamond section blade, iron hilt and sheath inlaid with charming silver dragons, birds, snake, foliate motifs and borders in low relief with engraved details against a black lacquered background. Exceptionally good condition, back of pommel with some rust. Blade 23cms.
Very Fine Persian Helmet Khula Khud and Matching Shield Dhal, Qjar Dynasty, both chiselled overall with bands of silver damascened inscriptions (not translated), flowering foliage, cartouches containing birds and animals, all with elaborately gold damascened borders; helmet fitted with a sliding nasal bar, twin plume sockets, square section top spike and camail of butted iron and brass links forming a pattern; shield embossed with a sun face, and fitted with 4 central bosses and gilt brass reinforced brim. Good condition. Shield diameter 42cms.
