Rare Third Reich Traffic Police Motorcycle Helmet, fine example of the hard shell motorcyclists helmet with white finish. Gilt washed aluminium police eagle in wreath to the centre. Large central padded ring and leather peak. Single vents to both sides of the helmet. Brown leather neck flap and two piece chinstrap system. Interior retains the original liner system with silver leaf ‘Erel’ details. The inner crash helmet has the original Robert Lubstein ‘Erel’ Berlin label, the same as you find on the Panzer berets. The helmet shows some service wear but generally still a good example of a scarce item of Third Reich Police headdress.

Rare Third Reich Allgemeine-SS Officers Parade Belt and Buckle, superb example of an original Allgemeine-SS officers parade pattern belt with fine silver brocade having oakleaves and SS runes design. Black felt cloth backing to the brocade belt with the original brown leather tab and the silver brocade wire runners still in place. Belt is complete with its original aluminium SS officers belt buckle with eagle and swastika to centre and motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ in gothic lettering. Reverse of the buckle with its original fittings and stamped with RZM SS runes, 36/39 and OLC in diamond. Overall a superb example of an officers parade belt for the Allgemeine-SS.

Standard double edged blade with motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trade mark to the reverse. Blade shows some wear and polishing but generally still a good example of an early dagger by a uncommon maker. Blade 8 ½ inches, overall 14 ½ inches.

Imperial German Bavarian Generals Shoulder Board and Sword Portepee, fine example of a Bavarian Generals shoulder board with golden twist wire braid entwined with braid having fleck of the Bavarian national colours. Red cloth underlay to the reverse which has been moth eaten in places. Accompanied by the leather and silver braid Generals sword portepee with Bavarian fleck running through. See previous lot for Bavarian Generals Pickelhaube picked up the same time and probably belonging to the same General. This item was brought home from Bavaria, Germany, by Harold Holdren Jr, from Pickaway County, Ohio. He served from 1944 with the 771st US Tank Battalion. During his service he was stationed mostly in various areas of Bavaria, until his return to the USA in August 1946. It was during his time in service that he acquired this and other souvenirs which are listed in this auction. Items have been consigned directly by the grandson of Harold Holdren Jr. A full write up of his military career will accompany this lot

WW2 German Army Infantry Regiment Nr17 Officers Peaked Cap, fine quality example of an Infantry officers peaked cap produced in a fine doeskin wool with white piping to the crown and bordering the bottle green central band. Cap is complete with its fine quality frosted silver cap eagle, skull and cross bones tradition badge and bullion officers cap cockade. Fine officers cap cords supported by two pebbled side buttons. Fine quality tan leather sweatband with perforated forehead section and black velvet Pekurol cushion. Interior with satin cloth lining and celluloid diamond with the makers details. The cap shows just minimal service wear with a couple of minor moth nips. Overall a superb example of an officers cap for an officer serving with the 17th Infantry regiment, who were the only Infantry regiment to wear this tradition badge.

Housed in its scabbard with polished nickel silver mounts and blue leather covering, the leather covering has some scuffs and wear. Very good condition polished blade with fuller to the centre and SMF makers trademark to the base. Overall a good example. Blade 26 ¼ inches, overall 34 ¼ inches.

WW2 German Kriegsmarine Administration Officers Tropical Sun Helmet, fine example of a probably French made white cloth covered cork sun helmet with large silver administration pattern Kriegsmarine sun helmet eagle. Interior brim with green cloth and blue cloth lining to the interior. Leather sweatband with cork spacers. Ink stamped under the sweatband in gothic lettering ‘2. Bortfeldt Bremen’. Many items of Kriegsmarine clothing were made and altered from captured French uniform and equipment, in occupied France, especially in the South of France which was Vichy. Many of the tropical uniform garments are French made.

Cloth lining with remains of the celluloid diamond. Silver foil Viro manufacturers label to the centre of the diamond. The cap shows some service wear but generally a good example.

Rare Third Reich Un-Issued 1939 Knights Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes)‘Lazy 2’ Variant by C E Juncker, Berlin, superb example of one of the most desirable awards of the Third Reich era the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. This example remains in mint condition with all of the original finish remaining to the silver frame and blackened finish to the magnetic centre. The frame is stamped to the reverse with ‘800’ and the maker number ‘2’ for the firm C E Juncker, Berlin. The number 2 is on its back, which gives this type its name by collecting fraternity as the ‘Lazy 2’. The ribbon ring is also stamped ‘800’. Complete with its mint full length ribbon. Award is housed in the original leatherette presentation case of issue with brass hinge fittings to the reverse and press release pin. Some light scuffing to the case. The award is housed in its original two piece outer carton case with printed to the lid ‘RITTERKREUZ DES EISERNEN KREUZES’ to the top and bottom ‘C. E. Juncker Berlin SW 68’. Staples to each corner of the rectangular card box on both the lid and the base. This is a superb textbook example of this type of Knights Cross and would be almost impossible to upgrade from. For more information on this type of Knights Cross see the reference book ‘The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross’ by Dietrich Maerz, pages 90-95.

Third Reich NSDAP Kreisleitung Political Leaders Peaked Cap, fine example of an early pattern peaked cap for Kreis level. Fine quality tan cloth body with black piping to the crown and bordering the central brown velvet band. Early silver NSDAP cap eagle and enamel swastika roundel. Celluloid golden cap cords and white metal pebbled side buttons, although original the cap cords may have been replaced on this cap. Fine quality interior with brown leather sweatband having perforated forehead section. Tan satin cloth lining with the original celluloid diamond, inked name of the original owner to a card inside the diamond, ‘Schmiedingen’. Under the sweatband is size stamped 54 and the original linen RZM label is still present. Some service wear to the sweatband and a couple of areas of loose stitching but generally the cap is a very good example of an early Kreis level peaked cap with the black piping before they changed to white after 1938.

Blade 26 ¼ inches, overall 35 ½ inches.

Extremely Rare Third Reich SS Enlisted Mans Dress Dagger by Richard Herder with Full Ernst Rohm Dedication, superb untouched as found example of a model 33 SS enlisted mans dress dagger with its original ebony grip with enamel SS runes emblem and nickel silver eagle to the grip. The nickel silver fittings are uncleaned and untouched with dirt and Verdigris. Small chip to the bottom section of the grip but this is all in the character of the dagger. Housed in its original scabbard with a surface rusting to the anodised centre and again the mounts have matching patina to the handle. Attached to the scabbard is the original short leather dagger hanger. The blade remains in near mint condition with much of the original cross graining remaining. Standard motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’. Reverse side of the blade has makers trademark for Richard Herder Solingen. Also to the reverse of the blade is the extremely rare and full length Ernst Rohm dedication. Overall this is a superb dagger which has only recently come onto the market after being tucked away in northern Minnesota until recently in the veterans home who brought the dagger back after 1945. Blade 8.3 inches, overall 14.5 inches.

Housed in red card box with silver leaf ‘25’ to the lid. Tape repair and one border of the box lid is missing. Interior of the lid has Rudolf Souval makers label.

Norwegian Teutonic SS Norge Supporters Ring, interesting example of a silver mans ring with the centre section having ‘NORGE – A.R. – 1940’. Stamped to the inside of the band ‘830s Lo Nr374’. The Norwegian National Socialist organization was part of the Germanic SS. The Norges-SS was a political and administrative organisation which was modelled on the Allgemeine-SS of Germany. This actual example features in the reference book ‘German & Spanish Military Rings – A Historical Perspective Collectors Edition’ by Stephen J Shaw, page 89. A copy of this excellent reference book accompanies this item.

Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe Air Ministry Officers Four Pocket Tunic, fine quality private purchase officers four pocket tunic with bullion Luftwaffe officers breast eagle. Various award loops to the breast pocket and above the pocket for medal ribbon bar. Tunic has black collar patches with three guls and shoulder boards with black underlay and two brass pips for the rank of Hauptmann in the Luftwaffe Air Ministry (Reichsluftfahrtministerium). Turn back cuffs and pebbled buttons to the front, pockets and shoulders. Silver twist cord to the collar. Fine quality officers lining to the interior and the interior pocket with tailors patch and name label. Generally good example.
