A multi gem set butterfly brooch, with a cultured pearl and emerald set body and sapphire, ruby and diamond set openwork design wings. Length 4.4cms. Condition: The brooch is in overall good/fair condition. The rubies, sapphires and emerald are quite heavily included, one sapphire with rutile inclusions, the rubies with scattered inclusions and the central emerald with a few surface reaching fractures, the profuse inclusions significantly affect the light transmission through the stone. The rose cut diamonds are all tinted brown, the split pearls vary in shade, the silver mounting is tarnished black, there are slight scratches to the pin and setting.

Lot 313

A late 19th Century continental cultured pearl and diamond crescent brooch, with five graduated cultured pearls surrounded by diamond points in a foliate style. Length of brooch 2.6cms. Weight 6.81gms. Condition: The brooch is in overall fair condition. There is black tarnishing to the back of the brooch and to all of the silver fronting, the cultured pearls are all well matched and the diamond points are fairly well matched, all claws need to be checked. The pin and catch is secure.

An early 20th century 15ct gold split pearl set brooch, in a double scroll design with foliate detail. Length 2.9cms. Weight 4.15gms. Condition: Overall condition fair-good. Two seed pearls deficient, variation in the colour of the pearls from silver grey on one side to more cream on the other. Surface wear to some of the pearls.

Lot 596

A pair of diamond set ear pendants, the floral openwork bar above an abstract lozenge shape suspender, each set with a central old European cut diamond within a rose cut diamond surround. Estimated total old European cut diamond weight 0.30cts, colour H-I, clarity SI1-P1. Length 5.6cms. Condition: The earrings are in overall good condition. All of the diamonds are quite bright and the settings appear secure. The settings appear quite tarnished black in places, being probably silver mounted.

Lot 37

A Victorian moonstone and diamond brooch, with two heart shape moonstones surrounded by old European cut diamonds surmounted by a diamond set bow. Estimated total diamond weight 1.30cts. Width of brooch 2.6cms. Weight 6.61gms. Condition: The brooch is in overall fair condition. There is black tarnishing to all of the silver setting in keeping with the age of the piece. Both moonstone have a good blue shiller, there are scratches to both visible with magnification. Some of the claws to the diamonds are quite seriously worn and would need to be checked. The back pin is bent, the catch would need attention as it does not close secure.
