BUNNAHABHAIN 1968 VINTAGE RESERVE THE FAMILY SILVER ISLAY SINGLE MALT BUNNAHABHAIN 1968 VINTAGE RESERVE THE FAMILY SILVERPurpose built in 1881 by William Baxter, Bunnahabhain distillery on the northeast coast of Islay featured housing for its workers, as well as its own pier for ease of transporting whisky and materials to and from the mainland. As with most distilleries, much of its life was spent producing blending stock, but in the late 1980s it began to appear as a single malt.Initially this single malt output was mostly sherry matured and so lightly peated as to be barely perceptible, placing Bunna’ firmly in the minority of Islay whiskies.
