A George II silver salver with pie crust border and scallop shell detailing, raised on three scrolled supports with central engraving depicting a Wyvern, holding in it's mouth a sinister hand couped at the wrist (possible Powis / Powys family connection), London assay 1754, approximately 764 grams total weight.

S HUNT, An Album of Early X-Rays 1898-1901, album of his own photographs compiled by Hunt, sepia gelatin silver prints of his award-winning X-rays (radiographs or Rontgen ray photographs), with photographs of his X-ray apparatus, his Electrical Exhibition Hall in Weymouth, exhibition labels and press cuttings, the four main radiographs signed in the negative by means of metal wire shaped into script, main radiographs 20cm x 15cm approx. Note: These are some of the earliest surviving medical X-rays. X-rays were discovered in 1895 but not adopted immediately for medical purposes. In addition to the radiographs themselves the album includes a photograph of award-winning radiographs in a single frame, identical to that sold by Flints 21st June 2019, Sothebys 1st August 1972. Note: Hitler had polyps from his vocal cords removed by Prof. von Eickenin 1935 and again in 1944. The Transocean News Agency became an organ of Nazi propaganda after 1933. Note: This appears to be printed from the full 6 x 6 medium format frame used by Saudek, and differs from the later cropped version, all Saudeks negatives from this period were lost; with a handwritten and illustrated letter to 'Colin' describing a curious reverie, signed 'Jan' and with a date stamp 3 Jan 1984Note: The letter is almost certainly to Colin Osman, editor of Creative Camera. It is established that Jan Saudek was in correspondence with Colin Osman. The date stamp 3 Jan 1984 would presumably be when the letter was received at the Creative Camera office.
