A silver cigar case (by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1846), bears the crest of the Forbes Leiths of Whitehaugh, Alford Aberdeenshire, one of the eagle feeding chicks, inscribed "Virtus Vulnere Virescit", another with stag's head inscribed "Salus Per Christum" and another with dove and olive branch inscribed "Fidus Ad Extremum", the main body engraved with large castle and smaller country house verso, within scrolling foliate decoration, marked "CFL" (Charles Forbes Leith), 2.42 oz CONDITION REPORTS Light surface scratch, accretions, some small pin prick holes on the lid and base, cleaning fluid residue inside, small split to front of lid, small dent to the top of the lid. ~General wear and tear commensurate with age and use. A circa 1700 silver inkwell of plain cylindrical form, the sides decorated with a coronet / spreadeagle / family crest, bearing maker's mark "BO" to base of ink container and scratch weight 5=7, bearing label inside inscribed "Collection of Dr James Na Smith WA Made by Thomas Boddington Silversmith during the Civil War hence no hallmark" (however the mark is that of Jonathon Boddington who entered as a Silversmith in 1697 - 46 years after the Civil War!), 5.5 cm high, total weight approx 5 oz CONDITION REPORTS Condition with surface scratching and denting throughout condicive with age and use. The hinge to the inkwell itself is damaged. The rim has two particularly large dents - see images for further detail adn also of makers mark to the base of the main piece and the inkwell which appear to match. Ther eis no mark to the lid. Also see image of handwritten note that accompanies the peice though the content of same does not seem to be necessarily correct.
A George V silver hip flask (by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield 1921), the removable base with gilt-washed interior as cup, 13 cm high, total weight approx 7 oz CONDITION REPORTS No visable signs of any dents, splits or damage though there is surface scratching though out conducive to age and use, the top appears to work and shuts tight, see images for futher details. No dents or dings, minor scratches to the surface conducive with age and use. To one edge there is a slight dark line which may possibly be a repair though might alos be part of the original construction as this solder line is continued at the top of the shoulder - see images. There is a very small light surface dent on the same side - see images.
An 18 carat gold ladies pocket watch with engraved decoration to case, No'd. 63549 to interior, diameter approx 3.5 cm, approx 38.3 g total, together with three other various pocket watches, two silver cased CONDITION REPORTS The Elgin pocket watch appears to be over wound. The half hunter pocket watch when lightly wound shows no sign of working. The two key wind watches - not known if working. See images of movement. An 18th Century long case clock the eight day movement with brass arch dial and silver chapter ring with Arabic and Roman numerals enclosing a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture surmounted by a silvered medallion inscribed "Stepn Mears Hempnall" Size approx. 232cm high x 49cm wide CONDITION REPORTS The case has had damage and repair and may possibly be associated to the movement. The brass arch dial has unusual holes behind the silvered medallion. The spandresl, whilst intrictae, are not particularly well finished again suggesting that they may be later additions. The case has several splits, discolouration around the door and escutcheon, the base has creasing the veneers on the front panel and sides - see images for further detail. The weights and pendulum are present however the pendulum is missing the hooks/nodules. There is no key. Where in the condition report it is indicated "the pendulum is missing, the hooks/nodules" this should read the pendulum suspension pins are missing.
