A mid 19c French mantle clock in the Religieuse style of the 17th century. The ebonised case is inlaid boullework of tortoiseshell and pewter and has a round topped arch on the case with three flambeau finials. The typical dial has a silver chapter ring on velvet background and engraved brass hands. The movement is of a mid 19c rectangular shape with barrelled springs and deadbeat escapement, rack striking on a gong, 21" tall overall.
A Japanese Shibyama style silver enamel and mother of pearl koro and cover, the three gilt panels with finch and foliate decoration betwixt spaced enamelled low relief foliate motifs, the pierced lift off domed cover with an enamel finch finial, on three straight tapering legs, 7.5"h.
A silver, ivory and Shibyama Kodansu (table cabinet) inset with five ivory and five gilt lacquered panels, each typically inlaid in shibyama style and decorated with a variety of birds and insects, all reserved on a silver ground, engraved in reserve with key patterns within simulated bamboo borders, the front with a single door, hinged and opening to reveal three drawers decorated in gold lacquer, the inside of the door lacquered with a bunch of irises laying against a suspended tasselled Kusudama, with top handle, signed on rectangular mother of pearl inlaid tablet to base, 4.5"l, 3.25"w, 3.75"h.
A late 19c pair cased verge pocket watch, the movement signed Chas.Pailthorp, Louth no.57655 and having a verge escapement with flat balance and ornately pierced and engraved balance cock. It has a plain white convex enamel dial with Roman numerals and is contained in plain silver pair cases hallmarked for London 1870. It has a base metal chain attached and is 2.25" diameter overall.
