An interesting bracelet made from a set of World War Two U.S. Army Air Force Aerial Gunners silver wings marked Sterling to the reverse with the pin removed and bent into a curve to fit the wrist, the bracelet also has two British silver 3d pieces, a U.S. dime piece and an Icelandic 25 Aurer piece linked to the wing by chain
A German Third Reich presentation cigar box with the inscription, Generaloberst Milch, Zum 30.3.1939, in Kameradschaftlicher Verbundheit, and engraved with signature of Herman Goring. Erhard Milch born 30/3/1892 was a World War One veteran who joined the Luftwaffe after the war, during World War Two he was responsible for aircraft production. He was convicted of war crimes by a U.S. military court in 1947 and sentenced to life imprisonment, being released in 1954, he died in 1972. Interestingly, by family repute, the gentleman who brought the cigar box back from World War Two was a commando soldier, on 4th May 1945 Milch, by this time a Field Marshal,was caught trying to flee Germany, he handed his Marshals baton to Derek Mills- Roberts, officer commanding the 1st Commando Brigade, Mills Roberts had recently taken part in the liberation of Bergen Belsen and was so disgusted by what he had seen he proceeded to beat Milch round the head with it. The box itself is made of silver and lined with cedar wood, the lid is slightly domed and has a gold Luftwaffe eagle fixed to the top below which is the afore mentioned inscription, on the rim at the bottom of the box are stamped German silver marks, the box measures 30 cm wide x 20 cm deep x 7,5 cm in height.
