* A Victorian silver mounted conductors batton. Ebonised wooden baton with silver top engraved with dedication `I.Stuart Smythe. Craven Hill House 1903` further down the stick with silver collar and engraved monogram `ISS` with a further silver tip to the base, each pieces of silver with foliate engraved decoration. 46 cm long. With a leather bound presentation case. Note: Craven Hill House was a notable school in North London, know as a school for educating the daughters of gentlemen.
An Important Early 19th century, silver mounted eight key bugle, by Richard Curtis & Son (glasgow 1825-1838). The copper tubing with silver mounts and keys, the silver garland deeply embossed with vinious decoration. Inscribed Richd. Curtis & Son fecert. Glasgow on the garland, all keys hallmarked Edinburgh 1825, overall length 17 in., 43.2 cm. (2) Reputed provenance by decent from the deceased owners estate: The story of the bugle is that it was owned by Col Blackburne MP of Hale, who was a close friend of the Duke Of Wellington, where there was a connection with instrument. It was given to the deceased owner in 1950 by his grandmother (M I Blackburne) when living in Kent.
* A Victorian sarcophagus shape burrwood musical sewing box and cover, mid 19th century, foliate loop handle, the flared lid opening to reveal a fitted interior, silver plated hinges, velvet level with sewing implements, opens to revel music cylinder, raised on four paw feet, width 21 cm, (a/f).
