A George III silver jockey cap caddy spoon, London 1802, makers initials rubbed. CONDITION REPORT: Generally extremely good condition with no repairs and no restoration. The hallmarks are legible with the exception of the first letter of the maker's name. The brim of the cap shows slight undulations as the gauge of the silver is reasonably thin but this is probably to be expected.

A silver tea caddy, with pineapple finial, Birmingham 1902. Width 10 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: 213 6grams. The condition is generally very good. The finial is not loose. The hinge is in good order. There is a solder mark underneath the pineapple finial on the underside edge of the lid but this is probably part of the original manufacture. The lid closes correctly and the side handles are in good order as are the feet. There is no inscription and no significant dents.

A silver pig pin cushion, hallmark rubbed. CONDITION REPORT: Length 56 mm, height to top of pin cushion 35 mm. The stub where the tail should be is not sharp. There is no evidence of a tail but we presume it must at some point have had one. The legs are all in good order. The hallmarks are visible. There are numerous dents to the body of the pig and a crack down the join between the ears to the bridge of the nose. There is also a tear beginning at the rear of the pin cushion just above the tail.

A pair of Royal Doulton printed bonbon dishes, square, each raised on a silver plated stand. CONDITION REPORT: Both dishes have very minor paint flakes to the edges. The dish with the sheep and cottages to the bottom left hand corner has some blemishes to the grass in the pattern. The stand is in reasonable order although it is missing a bolt to the underside and the other three bolts appear to have been replaced.

Lot 728

A shagreen instrument box, with silver coloured metal mounts. Height 12.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally good condition with good patination. The top metal band has a small loss to one corner. The shagreen to the top is intact. The hinge and lower metal band are in good condition. The closing mechanism works as it should. There are some small nibbles around the top of the interior wooden sleeve. The main body of the piece is in good order with some rubbing to the shagreen on the left hand edge of the box on the side opposite the hinge. The bottom metal mount is in good order as is the shagreen to the base. There are no instruments in the box.
