A George III silver vegetable tureen of rectangular form with gadrooned edge, engraved with bee and thistle motif and inscribed within ribbon “Industria” (by William Bennett, London 1810), 54.68 oz, 30.3 cm x 22cm, together with an associated foliate decorated Victorian silver hallmarked handle, 5.91 oz, 60.81 oz overall CONDITION REPORTS Tureen lid has dents to two of the corners and a dent to the centre of one shorter edge on the base as well as other small knocks, etc throughout both parts. Surface scratching evident especially to the interior and the top of the top where the handle joins as well as some pitting on one of the long edges of the lid. Lid does not fit properly to the base. Handle associated as per the description. General wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for more details.
A pair of George V silver wager or wedding cups as a figure in mediaeval dress holding aloft a cup with embossed and engraved decoration (by David and George Edward for George Edward and Sons, Glasgow 1912), 24.69 oz total, 25.5cm H CONDITION REPORTS One cup has had repairs to the supporting branches and the swinging cup is stiff. The other has a small hole where the swinging cup is pinned in on the left-hand side. There is also splits to the silver supports along the scrolling decoration. Both have general wear and tear, some light surface scratching, etc. as well as cleaning fluid residue throughout. There is a bit of a difference in colour on both of them. Otherwise general wear and tear conducive with age and use. See images for more detail.
