Pearson, Royal Engineers: Very impressive and rare Great War Palestine operations DSO group of twelve, Pearson who won a brace of "mentions" for the Boxer Rebellion, signed on behalf of Great Britain the treaty concluding the work of the Anglo-Liberian Boundary Commission in 1903, and afterwards embarked on a long and distinguished career as a Director of Surveys in the Sudan: but it was for his services as a Liaison Officer to the Arab Forces at Jeddah in 1916-17, which post had earlier been occupied by Lawrence of Arabia, that he was awarded the 2nd class of the Order of El Nahda, a rare distinction for a British Officer, and his DSO. Distinguished Service Order, GVR., silver-gilt and enamels. Wooden scabbard with light brown velvet covering (worn), gilt silver mounts consisting in high-relieved elements on a flat base featuring fine, floral decorations, the central part covered with bands engraved with lozenges. Seven suspension rings (one missing).These interesting weapons were given to North African chiefs who, holding them, could undisturbed sail the local sea ways. dimensions: length 95 cm.

An elegant silver mounted Dha dating: 19th Century provenance: Burma Strong, curved, single-edged blade, slightly narrowed toward the base, of triangular section. Small, disc-shaped silver quillon, with relieved border. The first part of the grip covered with a long, silver ring-nut finely decorated with four bas-relieved orders depicting overlapped leaves, a band of floral motifs, dragons and a frame; the rest of the grip, following the curved line of the blade, made of ivory. Wooden scabbard, entirely silver-plated, featuring bas-relieved decorations (a small defect on the tip), worked into five segments; the first one with frames, geometrical drawing and a checkered section, the remaining ones with effigy of animals and mythical animals such as elephant, tiger, dragon, etc. dimensions: length 98,5 cm.
