Auctioneer's Note: Ekaterina Mikhaïlovna Dolgoroukova (1847-1922) was a noblewoman who became the mistress of Tsar Alexander II, with whom she bore four illegitimate children in the 1870s. Walter Harrison was tutor to the four illegitimate children. Ekaterina subsequently married the Tsar in 1880. Cf.
