Blue glass liner, undamaged but possibly a replacement. Hallmarks clear.

Queen Anne silver sugar castor of cylindrical form, with pierced slip on cover with bayonet fitting, (London 1711), maker Charles Adam, 15.5cm in height, 5.7ozs.General overall condition good, no visible evidence of major damage or repair, some overall surface wear, scratching and minor denting, inner top rim of base is slightly bent, base is slightly uneven, cover is in good condition. There may have been engraving removed from the flat surface of the area opposite the Hallmarks but it is difficult to be sure, silver does not feel particularly thin but there are some signs of marks in the surface. The cover has a faint trace of a makers mark showing on surface to the lower end of the pierced decoration about half an inch above the rim between the lugs. It is upside down and appears to be the same AD as on the body, it is very worn and we cannot see the Lion Passant. We will attempt to photograph it.
