George V silver tea strainer and bowl, (Birmingham 1919), together with another silver tea strainer with an associated stand (Birmingham 1914 / 1931), all at 5ozs. Just overall age related wear. 1914 / 1931 strainer and stand- nice clear marks, a few minor dents to the strainer bowl, the stand is a bit distorted.
King George VI Coronation commemorative silver and enamel caddy spoon, Birmingham 1936, 6.5 cmSound overall condition. The mark are clear and there are no signs of previous repairs. Some slight distortion to the bottom of the bowl and by the terminal (see additional photographs).
Lot to include a cased set of binoculars, vintage cast iron 'Jolly' bank, literature, collection of coins and notes, Victorian and later including a small quantity with silver content. Note: Mechanical cast iron banks were first manufactured in the late 1800's during the industrial revolution. The 'Jolly Banks' or money boxes were a popular item during this period and are also associated with Black Memorabilia. These items are listed on the basis that they are illustrative of a bygone culture in which there were different social norms. We understand the potential controversy surrounding this type of item but believe that providing transparent information about historical context fosters greater understanding of our complex cultural history.
