Carausius a very unusual coin an antoninianus struck on an earlier flan containing silver, which is visible, portions of the radiate crown, hair and forehead are visible on the reverse, 'F' in left field, the 'O' not visible and probably obliterated by the overstriking aforementioned, ML in exergue, London Mint, if this reverse is Pax and an 'X' is visible but in the wrong position, the deity, stands left on groundline, holding olive-branch but the 'sceptre' looks to be an upright spear, Sear 13639Avar., the moneyer knowing he was overstriking gave a heavy blow, producing an excellent portrait, rare, overstriking mostly on legend, GVF
Cnut silver penny, Pointed Helmet Type, Spink 1158, obverse reads:- +CNVT REX ANG ['NG' ligulate], reverse reads:- +PIDRIN M-O EOFR [there is an extra pellet each side of the initial cross and under the bar that divides 'M-O'], York Mint, moneyer Witherin, super coin with even grey tone, probably an English find with no peck marks, full, round, well centred, about as struck, GEF
