A rare 1930 Icelandic silver 10 Krona "Althing" coin, commemorating a thousand years of the Icelandic parliament, struck privately by the Saxon State Mint, the obverse is designed by Einar Jonsson, and the reverse designed by Baldvin Bjornsson, diameter 45mm, approx weight 1.1oz.

A RARE CORPORATION OF KING'S LYNN PRESENTATION SWORD AND SCABBARD, 1813 with finely chased and engraved silver gilt mounts, the blued and gilt blade etched PRESENTED BY THE CORPORATION OF KING'S LYNN TO CAPTN ROBERT BLOYE/ IN TESTIMONY OF THEIR SENSE OF HIS GALLANT CONDUCT IN THE/SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY OCTR. XXVth MDCCCXIII, chequered ivory grip, the black leather covered scabbard with three silver gilt mounts and two loose rings, engraved GREEN WARD & GREEN LUDGATE STT, blade 72.5cm l (measured straight), London hallmarks, maker TP, a pellet between [Thomas Price; Grimwade 2879]Captain Robert Bloye, RN (1769-1847) was a native of King's Lynn, Norfolk. He entered the Royal Navy as a midshipman in 1793, was commissioned Lieutenant in October 1800 and placed in command of HMS 'Lyra' in 1810. Over the following four years he distinguished himself on the north coast of Spain, providing valuable assistance to Wellington at San Sebastian. He was twice mentioned in dispatches in 1812 and 13. He was promoted to Captain in September 1813, no doubt a cause for celebration in his home town and the presentation of the sword by the Corporation the following month. A portrait miniature of Bloye is in the Royal Museums Greenwich (ref MNT0068).Despite its worn blade this magnificent naval testimonal sabre by the leading London sword cutlers Green, Ward & Green is of the same type and quality as the famous Lloyd's Patriotic Fund presentation swords. The six chased silver gilt medallions on the scabbard comprise1) the arms of King's Lynn with a banner above dated 1813 2) Neptune in his chariot 3 & 6) Hercules slaying the Lernaean Hydra 4) a pelican in its piety and 5) a trophy of arms. A very similar sword by the then unidentified maker 'T.P' was presented to Cmdr. John Bull by the passengers of the HM P Packet 'Marlborough' in March 1814. It is illustrated Southwick (L), The Price Guide to Antique Edged Weapons, Woodbridge 1982, fig 308.
