A collection of items relating to James Kirkwood, Provost of Govan, to include; a silver-gilt key from the opening of Govan Town Hall by Provost Kirkwood 4th Feb. 1901, bearing the arms of the Lanarkshire Artillery, an ivory-handled silver trowel presented to Provost James Kirkwood on the occasional of his laying the foundation stone of Govan Town Hall 17th Sept. 1898, the reverse engraved with the town hall and Masonic insignia, a gold medal of office to James Kirkwood JP 1918 with engraved gold top bar, a silver chain of office engraved Jamed Kirkwood 22nd March 1900, a heavy ivory gavel engraved with the Govan coat of arms and a heavy bronze Deacon Convener Trades House Glasgow badge. (6) CONDITION REPORT: The gold medal weighs 15.6g.
