A late Victorian silver hip flask, monogrammed, crested and engraved a motto, London 1892, approx. 3.9 ozt, 11.5 cm high Condition report Report by MW The hip flask has an armorial and is engraved with initials, hallmarks are visible on both top and bottom of the flask. There are several shallow dents to the corners and in the main body of the vessel due to use. The cap fits snugly.
A George IV and later matched silver King's pattern table service, some crested/initialled, comprising six table forks, six dessert forks, three tablespoons, six dessertspoons, six teaspoons, six table knives, and six dessert knives, various dates and makers, approx. 62.5 ozt (weighable silver) See illustration Condition report Report by GH Three of the teaspoons have armorials, as do two of the tablespoons. Many of the others also have what appear to be erased areas where their used to be an initial or armorial. Maker's as follows: Six table forks stamped WC, three of which dated London 1826, the other three London 1839 Six dessert forks maker's mark possibly TS, WS, HH, all dated London 1896. Three teaspoons with marks rubbed, possibly WC London 1855 Three teaspoons also with marks rubbed, possibly JH London 1823 Six dessertspoons all marked WE, three of which are London 1825, the other three London 1836 One tablespoon stamped WBS dated Exeter 1844 Two tablespoons with rubbed marks, possibly JH, the first London 1823, the other London 1824 The knives are not stamped.
An 18th century style silver baluster mug, Sheffield 1929, approx. 10.3 ozt, 14.5 cm high Condition report Report by GH No engravings or crests etc. Generally in good condition, has held its shape well. hallmarks still very clear and legible and no obvious major dents, scratches or repairs.
A pair of silver pepperettes, London 1896, boxed, two silver measures, initialled, and a pair of early 19th century shoe buckles Condition report Report by GH Both pepperettes with slightly bent finials. Occasional dents and scratches and marks a little rubbed but generally reasonably good. Both measures slightly dented and misshapen. Buckles generally in reasonably good condition with no obvious damages.
An Eastern silver coloured metal bowl, decorated bands of Arabic decoration, 24.5 cm diameter, and two other silver coloured metal items, approx. 40.0 ozt (3) Condition report Report by GH None of the pieces appear to be stamped. The box and cover is inscribed D I C OATES WADMIDANI. 14.2.1926
A Victorian silver teapot, with embossed foliate decoration, Roberts & Slater, Sheffield 1854, approx. 26.9 ozt (all in), 19 cm high See illustration Condition report Report by GH Occasional small scratches and marks, but generally does not appear to have had any major damage or repair. Hallmarks and engraved decoration generally still very crisp. Overall good.
An Art Nouveau silver cream jug, with embossed flowers and foliage, Sheffield 1904, 6 cm high, a silver compact, a silver and agate box and other items (6) Condition report Report by GH The jug is generally in reasonable condition with no cracks or damage to the glass. The silver is a little overrubbed, and the thumbpiece for opening the top is a little bent. It also does not close entirely flush. The other pieces in the lot are generally in reasonable condition with nothing standing out as being subject to any major damage or restoration. The small box and hinged cover has a crack on its stone top.
A Watcombe pottery tray, with silver mounts, London 1875, 40 cm wide Condition report Report by GH Pottery chipped on all four bottom corners and in several places across the foot rim. Some dents and misshapen areas to the silver mounts. Some staining to the pottery. No obvious structural cracks or repairs.
