A pair of Cairoware brass and silver inlaid vases, Egypt, 19th century. The baluster body with inscription filled cartouches, height 21.5cm. (2) Maurice Jenkins (1933-2022). North Cornwall collector. Maurice was a lifetime collector and started in the 1950s. He opened a shop in Liskeard in the 1970s called Canon Hill Antiques. He visited a number of Middle Eastern countries in his lifetime including Egypt in the late 1970's when his interest in Islamic and Asian antiques began. He was a man with an eye for quality and a love of antiques, history and travel who purchased privately and at auction over the decades. He died a few weeks before his 90th birthday and was still buying until that time.

He retired as a Major in the 79th Carnatic Infantry.There are various dents around the body of the trophy. The handles are good and the pedestal is good. We are able to post this. Lot 97

A large Indian silver bowl, circa 1900. Repousse decorated with figures and animals in landscapes and buildings, on a carved wood stand, height of bowl, height 17cm, diameter 31cm, 1483 grams. Brought back from India in 1916 by the vendors grandfather Thomas Reed Dawe. He retired as a Major in the 79th Carnatic Infantry. There are some holes to the body of the bowl, possibly done in manufacture as these are not on raised areas. There is a rusty mark to the interior which could be an old repair. There are some minor chips to the dog figures on the stand.  The decoration on the bowl is very good and with very light wear.

The top engraved with an elephant and impressed london hallmarks for 1904, height 10.5cm, diameter 19.7cm.Brought back from India in 1916 by the vendors grandfather Thomas Reed Dawe. He retired as a Major in the 79th Carnatic Infantry.Weight 390 grams. The interior of the bowl has surface scratches,  otherwise good condition.
