On the night of the 11th January, 1862, The Steam Packet 'Courrier' encountered a terrific storm off the Caskets. This tea service & a purse of 21 Sovereigns were presented to Capt H.B. Harvey in approbation of his skill and coolness on that trying occasion as also of his unvarying attention to the comfort of his passengers. Jersey 11th April 1862'.
