An exceptional Selous Scouts Rhodesian Bravery Group of General Service medal, bronze cross and silver cross awarded to 644719 Sgt Rangarairayi Hungwe circa 1975, possibly listed in the book 'Contact' page 154 under his Christian name (copy included): 'For conspicuous courage and gallantry over and above the call of duty on operations in the North Eastern Border area...Private Rangarairayi has displayed outstanding personal courage in numerous encounters with the enemy which has resulted in a large number of terrorists being killed or captured and a substantial amount of arms, ammunition and equipment being recovered. In one encounter....whilst being fired on, Private Rangarairayi, ignoring the firing and with no thought for his personal safety, rushed the enemy endeavouring to capture one of them. During the struggle the terrorist was shot dead. ... During these actions he displayed cold nerve and personal courage of the highest order which has been an inspiration to all' With two medal certificates and a photograph of the recipient with his unit and 'Pamwe Chete' colours, many of the unit named in pencil verso.
