The outer rim is decorated with a series of punched dots, numbering seven in each quadrant. The number of dots could be significant, possibly representing the number of days in a lunar month, whilst the quadrants themselves represent the four seasons.Wheels held great significance in Celtic society and were associated with the Thunder-God, Taranis. This remarkable, wearable piece has a deep chocolate brown patina consistent with its age, the condition is very fine with smooth surfaces.
