A YELLOW METAL INDIAN LOCKET DEPICTING THE HINDU GODDESS SARASWATI the Goddess of wisdom, riding on the back of a peacock. In fine repousse work. Locket has been soldered to a yellow metal bar brooch dimensions 6.3cm x 3.9cm, weight 47.3gms Condition Report: I cannot confirm the carat of gold, there are no assay marks at all. I cannot test it as 1) it is not ours, 2) I would damage the surface. Even the inside I would hate to put a hole in it, due the nature of the repousse work. I can confirm that the 'metal' has no areas of whitening as if it was silver gilt. Or any lightening of the metal on areas of wear. Both recesses inside the locket are glazed.
