The Mapping of North America, no. 254 state 1. The map extends from the southern part of Virginia to northern Florida and is virtually identical to Bleau's map of 1638. The map depicts the English and French colonial interests in the region illustrated by their respective Royal coat of arms and several new colonies are noted. At the southern end of the Appalachians, there is a note about gold and silver mines.

Born in Strasbourg in 1586 and resided in Augsburg c.1619, Dresden c.1621-30, later in Nuremberg, Berlin and chiefly in Hamburg where he died in 1657. In Augsburg he was appointed first Goldsmith to the Imperial and Electoral Saxon Court, there he gained recognition as a Medallist and Chaser in gold and silver. When residing in Dresden he was appointed Medallist and Goldsmith to the Ducal Court of Saxony. Because of his international reputation, amongst many other princely houses of Europe Dadler held positions for the House of Orange and the Court of Sweden.
