WW1 British Army 1914 medal trio to Private Newton, Army Cyclist Corps, who was Wounded in Action at the battle of Neuve Chapelle. 1914 Star, impressed named L-13248 PTE W.R.NEWTON. 2/MIDDX:R; War and Victory Medal impressed named 13248 PTE.W.R.NEWTON. MIDD’X R. Medals are unmounted; 2 photographs & postcard. Comes with copied papers. See Newton family medals lots 409, 453, 488 & 492. Private William Richard Newton was born in Plumsted, London in 1892. He enlisted to the 2nd Middlesex Regiment on the 2nd December 1910. His occupation given was “Machinist”. He was 5’2 tall. He was given the regimental number of L/13248. He was stationed in Malta 3/9/1913 – 25/9/1914. Home 26/9/1914 – 4/11/1914. Landing in France on the 5th or 7/11/1914. (Medal rolls state 7/11/1914, service papers 5/11/1914). He was a signaller as of 15/10/1914. On the 18/11/1914 awarded 7 days Field punishment No2. Posted 8th Coy Army Cyclist Corps 2/12/1914 with the regimental number of 1460. Several other pre-war entries are also recorded. He was wounded in action on the 14/3/1915 Battle of Neuve Chapelle. A gunshot wound to his left arm and leg. Fracture radius & ulna left arm which led to his discharge on the 18/3/1916. Entitled to Silver War Badge. See Newton family medals lots 409, 453, 488 & 492.

Cased WW2 German bar to the Iron Cross 1st Class.Die struck badge, early tombac type, with magnificent frosted finish overall. Pin backed, un-marked, measuring 34mm x 31mm. Badge comes in its velvet & silk lined award box, with embossed silver badge design to top lid of leatherette cover. An outstanding piece.
WW2 German Army Signal officer’s peaked cap by Haliga. Good black leather peak, field grey doe skin wool crown, slightly faded lemon yellow piped and green wool centre band, with frosted aluminium eagle and dulled cockade/wreath. Silver bullion chin cords attached to the pebbled side silver buttons. Very good shape to crown, with a couple of moth nips to side and light tracking to top cloth. Interior retains worn silk liner, showing slightly detached celluloid diamond showing Haliga, Halle maker details and leather sweatband. In generally good condition. Approx. size 58.
WW2 German Navy officer’s 2nd pattern dagger & scabbard by WKC of Solingen. Gilded brass fittings, twisted wire semi faded yellow grip and eagle pommel with remnants of silver threaded dagger knot. Fouled anchor guard, retaining working locking button. Maker marked 24.8 cm long blade, being finely double etched, with foliate, anchor and marine life design, showing toning to ricasso, but overall clean finished quality spear pointed steel blade. Gilded brass scabbard retains both suspension rings, with lightning bolt design, very good condition overall.
C.1935 German SA/Brownshirts enlisted man’s uniform Kepi Gau Hochland/Bayernwald. Tan brown cotton base and top, with grey/blue gau felt outer band (Hochland/Bayernwald), with the central flaps sewn together with a polished brass button to centre, with 1935-1938 era silver washed zinc eagle. The dark brown leather chinstrap is affixed to the cap via two chocolate coloured fixing buttons. The interior retains the burnt orange oilcloth interior, chocolate brown sweatband and liner with RZM cloth tag is retained behind the sweatband. Size 54 marked.

19th early 20th C. Arab jambiya Omani dagger knife. Good quality Jambiya from the early 20th C late 19th century. This style of dagger with the “L” shaped scabbard is called Omani, as it originates from Oman. It has a 19 cm curved and dual edge blade with a pronounced central rib, forged from good steel. The hilt is Rhino horn and wood with silver steel front panel and silver tooled decoration on the guard. The scabbard is wood covered with leather and set with chased silver locket and chape. The belt attachment is made of heavy silver rings and twisted silver wire. Very good condition. The blade has few small areas of shallow pitting and there are some minor dents so blade surface, edge still decent sharpness, period wear to the gold stars ton the blade and silver parts in general but lovely piece for age.

Rare 19th C. French ‘Zouave’ folding knife dagger US Civil War era. A Beautiful and very large well-sized example with horn and tortoiseshell grips having mother of pearl inlays and a lovely silver Zouave soldier inserted in to the horn grip. A sturdy single edged blade with shallow clip-point tip, one side bearing a worn struck maker's name. Opens and closes firmly and with a snap. A very nice example Zouave soldier folding knife that may have possibly taken part in the American Civil War. Overall length: 40cm, Blade length: 21cm.
