A set of Birmingham Mint silver ingots A limited edition boxed 25-item set, actually with 26, being a commemorative series Milestones of Manned Flight. Each c2" x 1" ingot depicts a famous event or craft such as the Wright Brothers first powered flight (1903), Lindbergh’s solo transatlantic flight (1927), Spitfire (1940), Harrier (1967) and Concorde (1976). The additional ingot appears to be of a De Havilland Comet racer, incorrectly dated 1952. Also some correspondence between buyer and makers. Mounted in a wooden display box with blue felt backing and a perspex cover, minor wear, contents GC, some scratching.
