Louis Lot, Paris no. 2370, Brevete on the head joint, also stamped on the head socket L.L., no. 2370, rebuilt by Morley London, total length 710mm, sound length 635mm, case *The vendor of this flute played it professionally for over thirty years from 1957, prior to that, it was played in the 1920s and 30s by Alf Robinson in London until he retired to Barrow in Furness to conduct the Shipyard Institute Orchestra. There have been several changes to the flute over the years, the head socket is inscribed 'Rebuilt by Morley London', which meant a new tube replaced the original body, with the old saddles and keywork lengthened to match A440. This flute was originally high pitch (A456). Also sold with the flute are three receipts relating to the 1956 conversion and repairs done

An Interesting 1796 Pattern Infantry Officer’s Sword of Coldstream Guards and Battle of Waterloo Interest, straight single edge blade 32” etched with crowned GR cipher and martial trophy, regulation gilt brass hilt with folding side-guard and silver-covered grip, the side-guard later engraved with the presentation inscription ‘Carried by My Father LIEUT Hon Walter Forbes at WATERLOO’, in its steel scabbard with twin hanging rings, age worn overall, good condition. Walter Forbes, 18th Lord Forbes (1798 – 1868) was a Scottish Peer. He was one of the youngest serving officers of the line, during the Battle of Waterloo. He was serving with the Coldstream Guards during the famous battle.
