A Diamond Star Brooch, an old cut diamond within a border of smaller old cut diamonds to twelve radial arms set with graduated old cut diamonds in white collet and claw settings, total estimated diamond weight 7.80 carat approximately, measures 5cm in diameter see illustration The brooch has been previously valued for insurance for £15,000 on 21st September 2015. The brooch is in good condition. The insurance document states the brooch tests as 15 carat gold and silver and in our opinion it would test as silver fronted gold. It fastens with a pin and locking c-catch which is removable by a screw fitting with key. The clasp appears later. The principle diamond measures 7.1mm x 6.60mm x 4.3mm approximately, estimated diamond weight 1.30 carat. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour G/H/I, clarity VS2/SI1. Gross weight 20.8 grams. Condition Report made 2nd February 2017.
A Silver Mounted Ivory Tankard, German 19th Century, the silver stamped 935, in the 17th century German style, the body carved in high relief depicting cavalry and foot soldiers engaged in battle, the hinged cover chased with fruit and foliage, with a scroll handle and oval foot, 29cm high overall, the ivory 17.5cm high See illustration Silver in good condition - the interior gilt. The ivory carved almost paper thin, some very fine hairlines, some very small areas of loss. Overall the ivory is in good condition and retains a great amount of detail.
