A George III silver pair cased verge pocket watch, with picture dial by Jn. Blaylock of Carlisle, circa 1780, key wind, Serial No. 2029 (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement is inscribed Jn. Blaylock 2029. The inner case is hallmarked London 1780 as is the outer case. The hallmarks correspond as do the makers initials KP. The case dial and movement appear to match and the pillars on the movement would indicate a date circa 1780. The outer case is in generally good order. It shuts as it should. The watch glass has minor chips around the outer edge at the edge of the bevel. These are more visible from the interior. The dial appears to be in first class condition. The pointers are original. The outer case is in good order and the hallmarks clear and legible. There is some solder beneath the handle on the inside edge of the case presumably to stop the handle from pivoting. The movement appears to be clean and is currently ticking away.
A George III silver pocket watch, lever, by Geoff Wilson of Appleby, Serial No. 191, Chester 1804. CONDITION REPORT: The outer case is in good condition and the hallmarks are legible. The case snaps shut as it should. The inner case is also in good condition. The watch glass is in good order and the hinge operates has it should. The dust cover is present. The hallmarks are clear. The movement appears to be ticking away as is should. The face is in very good condition generally. There is a very faint hairline crack running from the centre to the numeral 9, but this is very difficult to see without a magnifying glass.
A George III silver pair cased pocket watch, verge, by John Hendrie, with silver and Champleve enamelled dial, London circa 1768, the dial and movement marked "Hanrey" which should be Hendrie (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The outer case is in generally very good order with no significant damage and no engraving. The inner case is in good order generally but does have an old solder repair beneath the handle on the interior of the case. This is not visible on the outside. The face is in generally good order as is the hinge, the glass and the locking mechanism. The hallmarks are clear on the inner case. The movement seems to be in generally good condition. The piece does wind but does not appear to be ticking. We cannot see any losses and would imagine that there is little wrong with the movement
An early 19th century quadruple cased verge travel watch, the movement by George Charle, London, Serial No. 8010, the inner case London 1826. The dial marked "George Prior". George Charle made movements for George Prior who sold to the Turkish market. Both inner cases are silver, the third case is tortoiseshell and jewelled, the outer case engraved silver. The outer clam case has a diameter of 82 mm, diameter of the clock dial is 47 mm (see illustration).
A Victorian horn handled carving set, by Robert F. Mosley & Co., Sheffield, comprising two salts, four knife rests and carving implements, cased (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The carving set is cast steel and electro plated. The salts are plated. The collars above the horn handles may well be silver but are not hallmarked. The set is in extremely good condition with only very minor blemishes. The interior of the case is in very good condition however the exterior is poor and taped together in places.
A silver hip flask, screw lid, 1830 William IV, 100 grams. Height 120 mm. CONDITION REPORT: The hip flask is in generally good condition with only very minor surface scratches and the odd tiny dint. There are no real issues. The hallmark is slightly rubbed but fully legible with the exception of the makers mark which is only half legible. It does not look as if the piece ever had a detachable cup. There is no engraving. The flask is watertight.
