A Charles II silver footed salver, maker's mark DB, probably for Daniel Beverley, London 1679, circular form, rope-work border, the centre engraved with the arms of Dr. Richard Baylie, within foliate mantling, on a raised circular part-marked foot with a matching border, the underside inscribed 'This for Richard Dighton of Clifford Christned (sic) y 6th of March 1664 From his Grand Father Dr. Richard Baylie, Dean of Sarum', diameter 26.8cm, height 8cm, approx. weight 19.5oz. Richard Baylie (1585 - 27 July 1667) was President of St John's College, Oxford from 1633 to 1648 and 1660 to 1667.
